MODERN ERA, ACQUISITION, 1976 OBVERSE: BUST OF KING CAROL I WITH THE LEGEND: “CAROL I KING OF ROMANIA”; REVERSE: THE “CROSSING OF THE DANUBE” MONUMENT IN THE CENTER OF THE CITY OF CORABIA, AND IN THE BACKGROUND, THE “BRIDGE OF THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE ROMANIAN NATION” OVER WHICH THE ROMANIAN ARMY, UNDER THE COMMAND OF CAROL I, CROSSED THE DANUBE AT SILISTIOARA (DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF CORABIA). THE MEDAL WAS MADE IN 1913.
